Wolves for Artists with Jan Martin McGuire
Wolf Park, Battlefield Indiana
March 23 - 25, 2007
This was a fabulous workshop that enabled the artists to spend three days learning painting techniques with renowned wildlife artist, Jan Martin McGuire. It also gave plenty of up close and personal experience with the wolves and the naturalists.
In addition to Jans teaching, time was spent teaching about the wolves, photographing and sketching, and the highlight was being able to go into the wolf enclosure with the pack ! You can check out Wolf Park at www.wolfpark.org

John Seery - Lester Workshop
In the fall of 2007, I traveled to Penticton, British Columbia to attend a workshop given by award winning wildlife artist, John Seery-Lester . John's instruction has proved invaluable. It was here that I learned the value of creating "atmosphere" in a painting. Spending time with other artists that share my love of nature is always both educational and inspiring.

Bear Fever Community Project - Boyertown Pennsylvania

The project began September 2003, with a vision that Jane and Paul Stahl
shared to mount life-sized bear sculptures—the community's mascot—on the streets of Boyertown, PA. The Stahls were inspired by similar sculptures of donkeys and elephants in Washington, D.C. and the original Cow Parade staged in Chicago in 2000.
By May 2005, over 30 Bear Fever bears debuted at the annual Boyertown Area Senior High School's Arts Expo. The bears were sponsored by various businesses, organizations, and individuals and created by assorted artists—professional artists, volunteers, and students in grades Kindergarten-college.

The Accountant Shared Bear was sponsored by the following firms: Larry Hoffa of Larry E. Hoffa and Company, John H. Griesemer, Jr., Reinhart and Company, Chris and John Schlegel, Denny Urffer of Resnick/Amsterdam and Lesher, and Barry L. Weller. Bear Fever thanks all of our participating accounting firms for their support of this unique community art project.
About the artist:
Bob McGee, the artist, was himself a graduate of Boyertown High School, eager to support the arts and the Bear Fever project. While he currently lives in Macungie, Bob has many fond memories of BASH and wishes that a project of this nature had been available when he was a student.
The “crackling” effect seen on the bear is a trademark of Bob’s work that Paul was eager for him to display.(www.bearfever.org)
